What's In A Title?

The blog title is my take on my favourite quote from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight novel, when Bella realises she is in love with vampire Edward. My version is slightly less impressive than that in the book but never the less true:

"About three things I was absolutely positive, first I was an obsessed crafter, second, there was a part of me - and I didn't know how potent that part might be, that thirsted for beautiful craft materials, dies, stamps, papers, cardstock etc, and third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with scrapbooking and cardmaking"

British Grand Prix 2012

Today was such a perfect day..... no I'm not going to break into song, honest.  I was home alone, it was quiet and peaceful so I did a bit of housework and then flitted in and out of my craft room all day, bliss.  Today I completed this layout about our weekend at the British Grand Prix a couple of weeks back.  I used a kit I got for a cyber crop recently but didn't get around to using.  I thought the flags would emphasize that the grand prix was British and the grid paper would be perfect to blend in with the envelope that our tickets came in as that has a grid effect on the front and I think it looks great as it has a McLaren driver on the front, our favouite team.  Once I'd stuck the ticket envelope down there wasn't a great deal of room for photos so I made the curved shape, a bit like a race track and added a few photos.  I added some journalling and I was then left looking at the empty space in the bottom corner which was quite ugly and definately needed something to fill it.  I decided that it would be fun to add some printed images of stills from the McLaren Animation cartoons that are being played in the run up to each grand prix.  I love how they have made Jenson (drool) look like a surfer dude and Lewis looks about twelve!  They filled the gap nicely and finished off the layout.

Enchanted Bunny

I made this fun card today using a pre-printed bunny image from Craftwork Cards that I found at the bottom of a drawer in my craft room and the lovely Everyday Enchantment papers from Stampin' Up! that have been re-released again recently along with the new Everyday Enchantment ribbon and brad.  The flower was cut from a Sizzix Sizzlet die that I acquired recently.  The scalloped circle is cut from Island Indigo cardstock using the Scalloped Circle Bigz Die and the four lots of patterned papers are edged with the same colour ink.  The text is stamped in Calypso Coral ink using a stamp from the Tiny Tags stamp set and the Cupcake stamp set and the Tiny Tag and Modern Label punch.

Mad Cardmaking Session

Found a pack of Tatty Teddy papers and chipboard cutouts yesterday whilst looking through my stash and as my stock of cards for my workmates' birthdays is a bit low I thought I would have a mad card making session.  These are the twelve little cards I made, I think they are 4" x 4" card blanks, a few bits of paper and the chipboard cutouts.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" on each with a stamp from my ever expanding collection of Stampin' Up! stamp sets and a greeting on the inside from another Stampin' Up! set.  That should keep me going for a while.
